Making sure a roof is maintained is an important part of keeping a property. The job is made a lot easier during the summer months if you’ve been taking care of, and inspecting your roof throughout the year.
Summer months mean warmer weather, as well as longer days. This allows the majority of home improvement projects to be done in summer, so make the most of the seasonal advantage.
- Check that gutters and downspouts are free of debris and able to flow the rain away from your house.
- Walk around your house to get a good view of your roof and notice any signs of wear and damage to shingles, gutters, the chimney or vents.
- Clean off any debris and fungal growth off of the roof.
- Trim any overgrown trees that are touching or close to your roof to prevent them from damaging shingles or other roofing materials and to prevent animals from having easy access to your roof where they can cause damage.
